In partnership with Let's Help International (LHI), Little by Little has begun an initiative to help 65 children attend school. This includes tuition fees, uniforms, shoes, and supplies. We are also happy to be able to have included a case manager who monitors the children and complete home visits.
Little by Little, visited Kyaka II Refugee Settlement the last week of March. It was an amazing trip. We are hoping to go back soon and there are fun plans in the works.

In Ghana, we are tacking school retention for girls. Partnering with JIA Community Development Initiative we hope to provide 300 school girls with reusable sanitary pads. We are currently running a Fabric Drive and accepting anyone who would like to volunteer to sew reusable sanitary pads. We have a volunteer from the North Marion High School Leadership class who is helping to organize this exciting project.
500 pads have been made to date and we will be fundraising to help mail them to Ghana.
Update!!!! A wonderful volunteer made 320 pads to send to Ghana.
Check out jicodi.org They are doing some amazing work in Ghana
Chile is where Little by Little got its start. Currently, our Director of Chile Initiatives is working on various Professional Development programs with educators in and around Temuco Chile. Zoom has been ideal for connecting with educators in Chile and amazing conversations and learning has been taking place in our meetings.
Gaye D. Hewson has been a strong supporter of everything Little by Little. In her honor, a scholarship has been created to support Omar Camara of Gambia Africa. Omar has worked hard to gain the education and skills necessary to be accepted into the National University of Gambia's School of Engineering and Architecture. Little by Little is proud of his hard work. Omar plans to put his engineering and architecture degree to good use in the future by helping his country as well as Little by Little. Maybe he can help us build a school or two in the future.
First Term Complete!! Super grades! We are so proud of Omar!
Sending money or regular pads to Ghana to help didn't seem like the right thing to do. Purchasing pads really isn't sustainable or environmentally friendly. Reusable pads seemed to be the solution. After washing they can be used over and over again. The goal is to keep girls in school.
If you have extra fabric or even sewing skills you would like to donate, please contact us at

Little by Little has been helping with Let's Help International's Digital Inclusion Initiative aimed at educating refugees providing them with smartphone and computer skills.
For many refugees paying school tuition and purchasing uniforms and supplies is not possible. Little by Little is working with Let's Help International to get 65 students fully outfitted and into school. In addition, a case manager will be working with the schools, children, and families to facilitate care and communication.
Everyone deserves to be educated.
